We have designed a logo for the CICAAW. Several formats are available below for those CICAAW members wishing to use it in publications or apparel. Please limit use to things that present the CICAAW in a positive light.

CICAAW Constitution

Constitution

Central Indiana Chapter of the American Association of Woodturners is a banding together of people with a common interest in wood turning.

By-laws

Members:
Remain members by payment of dues to AAW and CIC (which can be amended). Dues shall be payable in advance as of the first day of January.
Meetings:
Shall be monthly, second Sunday of month at 2 p.m. at Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville. The president or vice president may call special meetings.
Officers:
Nominating committee shall provide a slate of candidates to be voted on at the November meeting. Offices of president, vice president, secretary/newsletter editor, and treasurer will be filled for a term of 2 years. AAW office shall be notified of president’s address and phone number.
Voting:
Will always be determined by a quorum, which is at least 1/3 of members in good standing and at regularly scheduled meeting.
Committees:
1. Nominating committee: Three members appointed by the president.
2. Program committee: The vice president.
3. Insurance committee: The president and treasurer shall provide for renewal through the AAW home office.
Funds:
Shall be under control of treasurer and president, either of whom shall be authorized to sign checks.
Newsletter and membership lists:
Provided by secretary and treasurer. New membership list of all paid members will be published in the January newsletter. All expenses of these offices to be paid by CIC.
Amendments:
By-laws may be changed or amended by quorum vote of membership at regular meetings. Will be published in the next newsletter and adopted at the next regular meeting.

When was the club started?
In 1987.
How many people were included in the original membership?
Approximately 10-11 people.
Who started the club?
Dick Gerard, who is featured in the summer issue of the American Woodturner Magazine.
Who were some of the original members?
Charles Bales, Ed McCartney, Jim Jerard, Dick Coons, Paul Borders, Don Carpenter, Tom Newkirk, Betty Scarpino, John Lemasters, Carol Sipes.
Who were some of the early Presidents?
Don Carpenter 1st Pres.
Tom Newkirk 2nd Pres.
Betty Scarpino 3rd Pres.
Dick Coons 4th Pres. (and served 2 more years)
When did our club first start to appear at the annual woodworking show?
1988. This is done not to sell our products, but to promote the Central Indiana Chapter and gain membership.

We usually meet at the Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville on the second Sunday of each month, but be sure to check the calendar for the place and time each month.
