Cherry lidded end grain box

Second place, club contest for end grain lidded boxes. Cherry with natural bark inclusion. 5" dia. Bark inclusion has been stabilized with the addition of CA glue and coffee grounds.Show and Tell

A wide range of endgrain lidded boxes were brought in for the contest. The one at back right got second place.

Tom Fortenberry brought in some pieces to show. The smallest goblets are about an eighth of an inch. The goblet at the right back has about 58 rings of 4 different diameters.

Tom leaves a definite nub and chisels it off by hand to avoid pulling any fibers out during the parting off operation.
