Title:	Spiral Flute Carving
User:	Webmaster

Al carves the spiral flutes by hand. He uses a structured carbide sleeve on a drum sander type mandrel. He holds this in the Jacob's chuck in the head stock. He found that the morse taper would work loose, so he had the end tapped and puts a long rod through the head stock to hold it securely.

The only part of the tool that should be in contact with the wood is that part of the tool that is receiving direct support from the toolrest.
