Green Joinery

One of our members brought in a turning project from a class he had taken. The posts were turned green and joined with the dry rods, with no glue. As the posts naturally shrank, it created incredibly tight joints around the dry rods.

Goblet Competition 2

There was a large turn out for the goblet competition. Here are the rest.

Potpourri Pot Drill

Here, Dick is using a Jacob's Chuck to drill out the bulk of the material from the bowl.

More show and tell pieces.

In Charge

Daryl Mitchell was running the show this month since Duane wasn't able to attend. Daryl did a great job!

Goblet Competition 1

There was a large turn out for the goblet competition. James Aebi alone had 5 entries.

Indexing jig

Dick Coons used an indexing jig, along with a special drill guide "tool rest" he had had made up, to drill holes into the potpourri pot.

Potpourri Pot Bowl

Here Dick is forming the bowl in which the potpourri is contained.

Glue-up press

Daryl didn't get a chance to give his demonstration, but here's a picture of his glue-up press anyway. He'll explain how he uses it at a future meeting demonstration.

Show and Tell 1

Show and tell was mostly made up of the goblets for the competition.
