About us

We are the Central Indiana Chapter of the American Association of Woodturners, based in Zionsville, Indiana. We usually meet at the Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville on the second Sunday of each month, but be sure to check the calendar for the place and time each month.

Our club was formed in 1987, soon after the national American Association of Woodturners was formed. Our members range from hobbyists to professional turners, from those who have turned for decades to those that haven't yet spent a day at the lathe. We have long time members and new members. We welcome guests, friends, ... anyone that's interested in woodturning or that wants to keep you company while you visit!

We usually have a large CICAAW booth at the annual Indianapolis Woodworking Show, with show-n-tell items on display, members staffing the booth to answer questions, and a couple lathes running at all times with live demos.  Usually there's something especially exciting being turned, drawing a large crowd around our booth!

Please visit our Membership information page to learn more about all the benefits of club membership and how to join.

We welcome all visitors and guests to our meetings and events.  Please join us if you're in the area.  Learn more about turning, exchange your ideas/experiences, and make some friends along the way.  See you there!
